Dried figs are a traditional product from Portugal, and many dishes and recipes include them.
Dried in the sun, they can be a part of traditional menus or a part of desserts and pastries. You will find them across the country although the main fig-growing region is Alentejo.
Dried figs are a variation of the sun-dried fig. This process is done many time in wooden trays. Some people prefer them filled with nut or almonds.
